On 16 January 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Ms Lena Sweetman under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Lena Sweetman, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Short Signature’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race seven at Gosford on 25 October 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was arsenic.
Following Ms Sweetman’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of six weeks.
