Decision - Leith McHugh

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 29 November 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Leith McHugh under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Leith McHugh, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘See That’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race one at Grafton on 25 July 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substances in this instance were amphetamine and caffeine.

Mr McHugh failed to respond to the charge.

After considering all the evidence before the inquiry, GRNSW Stewards found Mr McHugh guilty of the charge and determined to impose a period of disqualification of six years.

Mr McHugh has been notified of his rights of appeal.
