Borg Confident Of Finding A Wentworth Park Win

By Jeff Collerson

Finding Mo only has to begin cleanly to win his second Wentworth Park race tonight according to trainer Ernie Borg.

Finding Mo has box one in the 4th grade Follow Us On Facebook Stakes (race six, 520m) and is ideally positioned, having registered two of his four wins from the rails box.

Although Finding Mo's only Wentworth Park win was in November, his past two Wentworth Park performances have been his best.

He was an unlucky fourth to Six Sense at Wentworth Park last Wednesday and snared a third placing behind Zipping Montana and Zambora Cross in a harder race at the same course on Saturday.

"The way he is going at the moment I think he can run 30.20 or 30.30 at Wenty and that should be good enough to win this race," Borg said.

"Finding Mo needs box one because if he gets interrupted when making a run it takes him too long to get going again.

"He should only have to begin cleanly from box one to win.''

Go Good Riddance made the pace when a close second at her Wentworth Park debut last Wednesday but trainer Luke Azzopardi believes she will be a better greyhound when she steps out for this week's 5th grade AAA Radiator Specialists Stakes (race seven, 520m).

Last week Go Good Riddance held a big early lead before being run down by boom youngster Cosmic Bonus. Azzopardi believed the fact he had to prepare Go Good Riddance for the Dapto Puppy Classic final over 297m earlier in January, played a part in his greyhound running out of condition at the end of the race.

"Because I had been preparing Go Good Riddance for the 297m Dapto race, she had not had a lot of hard work to get her ready to tackle 520m at Wenty,'' Azzopardi said.

"I was pleased with her run last week and I think she will strip fitter this time.

"Before last Wednesday's race Go Good Riddance had not been out of the starting boxes at Wentworth Park, she had only had a post-to-post hand-slip at the track.

"That experience should improve her. While she is not strong at the finish of 520m she is ideally drawn in box eight, so if she jumps cleanly and does not have to use up a lot of gas to reach the lead, I think she will hang on and win.''

Joyanna">Joyanna, who has been placed in two of four Wentworth Park races, returns to headquarters after a long break when he exits box four in the 5th grade Ladbrokes Supports #Thedogs Stakes (race two, 520m).

Joyanna looked like being a superstar early in his career but a serious injury sidelined him for over seven months.

Since resuming from a spell he has won at Albion Park and Casino and trainer Johnny Antonelli believes the greyhound will give a good account of himself on Wednesday.

"I don't think he is ever going to be the dog he was before he got hurt, but he is racing pretty well,'' Antonelli said.

"Joyanna is desperate for the rails but while he has box four that is not too bad and if he gets a clear run to the first turn he should be hard to beat.''

Tonight's best bet should be tiny Cosmic Vintage, who is built more like a whippet than a greyhound.

Cosmic Vintage was sent out favourite when fourth from box seven at Wentworth Park last Wednesday night but will relish the switch to box one in this week's 5th grade Ladbrokes Appreciation Stakes(race nine, 520m).

She has been placed in two of four Wentworth Park starts and at her only outing from box one she scored impressively over 400m at Gosford.
