Decision - Mervyn Buckley

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 9 December 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Mervyn Buckley under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Mervyn Buckley, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Mindy’s A Marble’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race six at Nowra on 19 September 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was arsenic.

Following Mr Buckley’s early guilty plea to the charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $500.
