On 28 November 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Stevan Vas under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Stevan Vas, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Jeteye Express’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race 11 at The Gardens on 11 September 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was arsenic.
Following Mr Vas’ early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of further mitigating factors supplied, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $750.
