Richmond Wednesday Now A Night Meeting

Due to extreme temperatures forecast across Sydney and the surrounding regions on Wednesday the race time for the Richmond meeting has changed.

The first race at Richmond will now start at 7.25pm with kennels closing at 6.40pm.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, temperatures at Richmond are forecast to reach a maximum of 39 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Under Greyhound Racing NSW's Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy, stewards may abandon a race meeting where the temperature rises above 38 degrees Celsius.

Participants are reminded that a greyhound can be withdrawn from an event without penalty where the Bureau of Meteorology official forecast temperature is 32 degrees Celsius or higher.
