Kempsey Club Issued With Show Cause Notice

By Greyhound Racing NSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has issued the Kempsey Macleay Greyhound Club with a show cause notice as to why its registration should not be suspended due to serious concerns regarding the welfare of greyhounds participating in races and trials at the club.

The action was taken by GRNSW after investigations by Stewards identified a range of safety issues regarding the club's lure system and perimeter track fencing.

GRNSW has notified management at Kempsey of its intention to suspend the club's registration.

The club now has seven days to respond before a final decision on the club's registration is made.

Should a decision be made to impose a suspension of the club’s registration, GRNSW will consider lifting such a suspension when the club notifies it in writing that the issues with the lure system and perimeter fencing have been rectified and GRNSW has had the opportunity to perform a site inspection to confirm that there is no longer a risk to the health and safety of racing greyhounds.
