Decision - Ronald Steel

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 11 August 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Ronald Steel under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as a result of six positive samples taken between 8 June 2015 and 24 August 2015.

The prohibited substance in each instance was caffeine and its metabolites.

During an inquiry on 29 November 2016, Mr Steel entered a plea of guilty to the charges.

The Stewards determined that for each of the charges a period of disqualification of four months was appropriate. The Stewards further determined that a number of the charges would be served concurrently, which resulted in a period totaling 6 months disqualification.
