Chevy Prince Ready To Motor At Wentworth Park

By Jeff Collerson

Chevy Prince is set to thwart Bessy Boo's attempt to notch his 34th Wentworth Park victory when they clash in Wednesday night's 520m Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes.

Bessy Boo (pictured), who has won 30 races over the 520m trip and three over the tough 720m journey, is well drawn in box three but Chevy Prince's trainer Robert Howard is not dismayed at having to tackle Wenty's most prolific winner.

"Chevy Prince has shown what he can do by winning his past two starts over 450m at Maitland in good times,'' Howard said.

"In each of those wins his rivals left him alone for the first couple of strides and after that he was fine.

"Chevy Prince can either fall out of the boxes or can nail the start but no matter how he jumps he is in with a chance if he is not hampered in those first couple of bounds.''

Chevy Prince has drawn five but has a good record from middle boxes and with Abmilak, a good railer in box four, he should get a clear run to the first turn.

Trainer Simon Rhodes, who has been enjoying a successful run at the provincials, is bringing Just Lonely Boy (race one), Dyna Nerf and Stubborn Bobby (race seven), Zali Magic and Dyna Omen (race eight), Cosmic Gunner (race nine) and Danger Bale (race 10) to Wentworth Park on Wednesday.

Rhodes rates Dyna Omen. Stubborn Bobby and Just Lonely Boy as his best prospects.

"Although he has been unplaced at his past five starts Dyna Omen is the fastest dog in my kennels,'' Rhodes said. "None of my other greyhounds can trial as quickly as he can on his own but his problem is he is slow early.

"Just Lonely Boy has also missed a place at his past five races but he is trialling as well as he was when he won at Wentworth Park early last month.

"He needs to get on the bunny, like he did on October 5, to show his best form.

"Stubborn Bobby is racing well although I was slightly disappointed with his last start second placing at Dapto.

"When he got into clear second place at one stage of the race I thought he would win but he was the runner-up at the finish.''

A drop in class could put Blabba Mouth back in the Wenty winner's circle despite the Cheryl Murray-trained dog exiting box five in the racingtoarespectedfuture.com Stakes (520m).

Blabba Mouth has sufficient early speed to overcome his middle draw with the greyhound having had no luck when unplaced in a mixed  fourth and fifth grade and a fourth grade at his past two Wentworth Park outings.

Blabba Mouth faces only fifth grade opponents on Wednesday with Simon Rhodes' Stubborn Bobby looking his only real danger.

I really like the chances of Patch Adam, who has box four in the 520m Ladbrokes Appreciation Stakes.

Patch Adam was never out of trouble before finishing a distant second at his Wentworth Park debut last Wednesday night after having posted blistering times in winning his two previous starts at The Gardens.
