Decision - Harry Sarkis

By Greyhound Racing NSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Stewards have determined not to lay any charges against registered trainer Harry Sarkis for alleged offences relating to luring and baiting.

On 27 July 2016 GRNSW Compliance Officers located an animal carcass that appeared to be the carcass of a rabbit within close proximity of Mr Sarkis’ kennels during an announced kennel inspection by GRNSW.

An inquiry was held on 4 November 2016. The purpose of the inquiry was to investigate whether the discovery of the animal carcass was a breach of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules.

Mr Sarkis appeared at the inquiry together with his legal representative.

After considering all the evidence led at the inquiry, the Stewards panel determined that there was no evidence that the carcass located on Mr Sarkis' property was used for the purpose of training greyhounds.

On the basis of the finding, the Stewards determined not to lay a charge in accordance with Rule 92 (3) (b).
