Air Traffic Revving Up For Bulli

By Stuart Turner

Air Traffic scored a best of the night victory at Richmond last start and looks capable of bringing that form to Saturday night’s Bulli meeting.

The exciting greyhound jumps from box two in a high-calibre 5th grade Ladbrokes.com.au Stakes (race five, 400m) aiming for a fourth win in seven starts.

Air Traffic has scored a trio of victories over the 400m at Richmond, including his smart 22.58 six-length triumph at the western Sydney circuit last Friday night.

He faces some handy opposition in this race including Rapid Trigga (box one) and Almost Black (box seven), but Air Traffic’s trainer Tony Messina is confident of another bold showing.

“He’s still only young – 19 months – but showing plenty of promise. He is improving with each run and going better each time, so I think he’ll handle this alright.

“Providing he steps out okay I think he can win.”

Air Traffic has had one previously unsuccessful run at Bulli back on October 1 but has been an impressive performer at Richmond.

The son of Swift Fancy and Magic Moves is part of a handy litter that also includes Danny Dee, who is a double winner at Richmond so far in his novice career.

In other Bulli action on Saturday night, Got A Motor (box one) lost out to Roman Red (box six) last week but can turn the tables in the 5th grade Ladbrokes Monthly Medal Stakes (race six, 515m).

The JODIE Lord-trained greyhound finished second to Roman Red last week from box three but has placed three times in four previous starts from box one.

Costin was a handy Wentworth Park winner last start and can continue her good form in the 4/5th grade Bulli Tuesday-Thursday Trials (race seven, 472m).

The Shaun Evans-trained greyhound has built the consistent record of four wins and six minor placings from 13 starts and has won once and place once in two starts wearing the pink rug.

Unbeaten pup Cosmic Series (box four) can make it four wins from four in the 5th grade Bulli racing Saturday Nights Stakes (race eight, 472m).

The Denice Warren-trained greyhound was a smart 26.25 winner at Bulli two starts back and looks capable of triumphing again in this.

Semikhah (box two) looks the night’s best bet in the 5th grade  Racing To A Respected Future (race nine, 400m).

The Frank Hurst-trained newcomer is returning from more than two months out but had run some decent races early in his career, including a win over the 400m at Bulli.
