Tell The World Looking Tough To Beat At Gosford

By Stuart Turner

Promising talent Tell The World looks capable of overcoming a tricky draw and sealing a hat-trick of victories at Gosford on Tuesday night.

The Steven Jones-trained greyhound jumps from box five in the 4/5th grade Steve Blyth Electrical Stakes (race two, 515m) fresh from back-to-back triumphs at Bathurst and Richmond.

Tell The World has won both her previous starts wearing the yellow rug – including her last start victory over the 535m at Richmond – and Jones believes his greyhound can overcome a tricky field including Black Ju Ju (box seven).

“She doesn’t like the inside boxes  so she’s actually drawn well here,” Jones said. “She can get to the middle of the track and do her best work.

“I took her up there last week for a trial and she went okay so she’s seen the track.

“She’s not quite at the top of her game yet but she’s a little ripper of a greyhound and I’m delighted with her.  She always gives her best and is honest as the day is long.

“I reckon in a  couple of starts she can get down to 30.50 over the 535m at Richmond and possibly break 30 seconds at Wentworth Park as well.”

Jones also has Tell the World’s litter sister Oakdale Miss jumping who will jump from box five as well in the second heat of the mixed grade Ladbrokes Monthly Medal 0-3 Wins (race five, 600m).

Oakdale Miss has scored two solid consecutive placings at Bathurst and Richmond but faces tough opposition, headed by consistent Starzsa Light (box four).

“The draw is a worry and there’s some handy greyhounds involved in this,” Jones said.

“Having said that, I think she’s a strong greyhound who gives every indication she’ll run the 700 metres one day. I’m reasonably confident she can run a good race here.”

In other Gosford action on Tuesday night, impressive last start Wentworth Park winner Runway Bono (box five) looks the top pick in the 4/5th grade GBOTA Gosford Branch Stakes (race seven, 600m).

One of the stars out of DEAN Swain’s gun western Sydney kennel, Runway Bono saluted in a best of the night 29.82 at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

He won on his last start over the 600m at Dapto in September and also saluted over the same distance at Gosford in August, clocking a smart 34.91.

The John Miles-trained Black Eva (box two) was a Wentworth Park winner three starts back and looks the top pick in the free-for-all Rapid Clean Central Coast Stakes (race six, 515m).

Ebby Ripper (box three) won over the 600m at Gosford last month in a handy 34.95 and can repeat that feat in another heat of the mixed grade Ladbrokes Monthly Medal 0-3 Wins (race eight, 600m).
