Decision - Charles Northfield

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 14 October 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Charles Northfield under rule 83 (2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Charles Northfield, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Kingsbrae Chooky’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race three at Tamworth on 30 April 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was cobalt.

Following Mr Northfield’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of further mitigating factors supplied, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of 12 weeks.

Mr Northfield has been notified of his rights of appeal.
