Decision - Darryl Fitzsimmons

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 22 September 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Darryl Fitzsimmons under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Darryl Fitzsimmons, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Rojo Dragon’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in a Stewards trial at The Gardens on 21 May 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was caffeine and its metabolites.

Following Mr Fitzsimmons early guilty plea to the charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of disqualification of 21 weeks.
