On 4 October 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Francis Hayes under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Francis Hayes, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Our Silver Mist’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race seven at Dapto on 23 October 2014 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was meclofenoxate and 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid.
Following Mr Hayes’ early guilty plea to the charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $750.
