Decision - Simon Zarb

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 11 August 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Simon Zarb under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Simon Zarb, a registered owner trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Felon Rose’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in Race 7 at Gosford on 9 February 2016, in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance in both instances was cobalt.

Following Mr Zarb’s early guilty plea to the charge and further submissions as to mitigation, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a disqualification period of 10 weeks.
