Decision - Darren Petersen

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 16 May 2016 Greyhound Racing (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Darren Petersen under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

"That you, Darren Petersen, a registered owner trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Ima Tomahawk’ at Wagga Wagga on 20 November 2015, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in Race 2 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance."

The prohibited substance in this instance was caffeine and its metabolites.

Mr Petersen failed to respond to the charge.

After considering all the evidence before the inquiry, GRNSW Stewards found Mr Petersen guilty of the charge and determined to impose a period of disqualification of 96 weeks.
