Decision - Michael Clayton

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 2 September 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Michael Clayton under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

"That you, Michael Clayton, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Aston Maveric’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in Race four at Goulburn on 1 March 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance."

The prohibited substance was meloxicam.

Following Mr Clayton’s early guilty plea to the charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $1,500.
