Tell The World Aiming To Rule At Richmond

By Stuart Turner

Steven Jones is confident his promising greyhound Tell The World can score a notable triumph at tonight’s Richmond meeting.

The in-form daughter of Zulu Zeus and Transmit, who has won twice and placed three times in six starts so far,  jumps from box three in a high-calibre 4th/5th    grade Castlewood Kitchens Sprint Final (race six, 535m).

Among the likely challengers here are last year’s Group 2 Dapto Puppy Auction Classic runner-up Skate Thin Ice (box four) recent Group 3 Dapto Maiden finalist Costin, who jumps from box seven.

Tell The World finished second in last week’s Heats behind Myrniong Plow but Jones is expecting an improved performance this week.

“She normally doesn’t jump as badly as she did last week,” the owner-trainer said. “If she jumps well then she’s capable of running something like 30.80, which would put her in contention.

“I’m glad she’s drawn inside Skate Thin Ice and Costin and I’m hoping they might cancel each other out.

“I gave her a little box practise this week and she was coming out well. Hopefully she continues that tonight.

“If she can hold them out to the first corner then it’s race on.”

Tell The World’s record includes a solid victory over the 535m at Richmond last month and two other placings at Bathurst.

She is among a handy litter also including Local Bloke, a smart  recent winner over the 450m at Bathurst.

“None of them are champions but they are lovely greyhounds and will be honest performers,” Jones said.

“Tell The World tries her little heart out and usually runs well.

“I’m reasonably confident she can win this.”

Hot newcomer Ritza Presley (box eight) looks the night’s best bet in the Tuiaki @Stud Maiden Series Heat (race three, 535m).

The latest talented newcomer from the gun Mark Gatt kennel, Ritza Presley has already had an impressive performance trial over the 535m at Richmond.

Midnight Kate  can continue her strong recent form with another victory in the 4th/5th grade Steeline Riverstone Stakes (race five, 618m).

The David Pringle-trained greyhound (box one) has won her last six starts, including a smart 30.15 run at Wentworth Park on August 6, and has built the impressive record of 10 wins and two minor placings from 16 starts.

She has won her two previous visits to Richmond and should have too much class for this field, although Winsome April (box seven) is currently racing well and could provide strong opposition.

Memory Remains (box three) can score a win on her first visit to Richmond in the 5th grade Bess Electrical Stakes (race eight, 535m).

The Kayla-Jane Coleman-trained newcomer has scored two wins from five starts so far, both over the 520m, and looks to have plenty of promise.
