Decision - John Horan

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 27 April 2016, Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr John Horan under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, registered trainer John Horan, while in charge of the greyhound 'Nipper Zarr' at Dubbo on 5 November 2015, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race 9, the PK Bakery Stakes, a 5th grade event over 318m, in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was Synephrine.

After the participant pleaded guilty to one offence under rule 83(2) and provided submissions for consideration on the penalty to be imposed as a result of the offence,  GRNSW Stewards have determined to discharge the participant in accordance with rule 98, subject to the participant not committing any further breaches of the rules for a period of 12 months.

Mr Horan has been notified of his rights of appeal.
