On 23 May 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Charged trainer Mr Douglas King under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Douglas King, a Public Trainer, while in Charge of the greyhound ‘Kingsbrae Bess’ at Casino on 19 February 2016 presented the Greyhound for the purpose of competing in race 7, the Triple 2 & 2LM Radio Stakes 5th grade event over 484metres in circumstances where the Greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was oxazepam.
Following Mr King’s early guilty plea to the Charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $1000. A copy of the decision of GRNSW can be found here.
Mr King has been notified of his rights of appeal.
