Astrophysic Ready To Star At Cannington

Some of the best sprinters in Western Australia will go head-to-head at Cannington on Saturday night in the heats of the Lew Dorsa Memorial (520m).

Four heats of the series will take place at the Perth track with leading trainer Paul Stuart looking to hold the aces in the first heat with Astrophysic (box seven).

Astrophysic comes into Saturday’s race off a 29.93 victory at his first race start over the 520m at Cannington, and looks perfectly drawn in box seven given he has seven wins and four placing from 11 starts wearing the black rug.

Who’s Got Snoop (box two), meanwhile, looks the top pick in heat two, having won three of his last six starts.

The CHRIS Halse-trained greyhound looks well drawn and has a good record at this track and distance having won two out of four starts.

Fun Boss (box six) was at his brilliant best last week while winning the Winter Cup and looks the top pick in a high-quality heat three.

The Cheryl Isaac-trained greyhound now has 27 wins and 18 minor placings from 58 starts and has scored four wins and three minor placings from eight previous starts wearing the green rug.

In the fourth and final heat, Yunderup Dozer looks ideally drawn to upset some high-quality rivals in a heat of the at Cannington on Saturday night.

The Andrew McLaren-trained greyhound has box one in the fourth and final heat (race eight) of the series and will go up against group winner France Soir (box three) and the in-form Monaro Monelli (box six).

A winner of more than $100,000 prize money, Yunderup Dozer finished fourth in last week’s Winter Cup but scored a smart 30.22 win at Cannington two starts back.

The top two greyhounds from each heat progress to next Saturday’s $22.500-to-the-winner decider.

In other Cannington Saturday action, track record-holder Senator Monelli (box one) looks the clear top pick in the night's opening race, the Free Entry TABtouch Park (600m).

The David Hobby-trained greyhound set a new 600m best for the track with last week's 34.68 run and has won four of his five previous starts from box one.

Dubliner (box three) was another impressive winner last week and looks the top pick in the Property Plus Real Estate Stakes (race four, 715m).

The CHRIS Halse-trained stayer won from box over in 42.09 last week and has scored 16 wins and six minor placings from 28 starts.
