Good Odds Bricky Looking A Solid Chance For Bulli

By Stuart Turner

The well bred Good Odds Bricky looks capable of scoring another victory in the feature race at Friday night’s Bulli meeting.

The Tracey Hurst-trained newcomer jumps from box three in a high-quality 1300 ladbrokes.com.au Final (race three, 472m) aiming for a second career victory.

Good Odds Bricky finished fourth on debut at Dapto in March before a comfortable triumph from box seven in last week’s heats in a smart 26.85.

The son of Magic Sprite and Punk Angel faces a tough field in an even-looking final but looks drawn to be in with a nice winning chance.

“He did everything that we wanted last week and it was a sound run,” Hurst said.

“I think he actually prefers it out wide but I am sure he will be comfortable from this box.

“He had an injury (after his first run) but is fine now. He’s well-bred from Punk Angel and is one that is coming along well. I can’t say at this stage that we have many expectations of him but he is looking good and I think he can win here.”

Good Odds Bricky showed impressive speed to triumph by six lengths in last week’s heats and looks the best bet in an open final featuring several handy newcomers.

Tough Love (box six) was a sound 26.98 winner in last week’s heats, while Moonstone Kahn (box eight) looks another fine prospect for gun western Sydney trainer DEAN Swain.

Boo Fighters (box one) finished third last week on debut but had previously trialled well and is also a threat.

In other Bulli Friday action, in-form Runway Bono (box one) looks a night’s best bet in race five over the 515m.

One of the stars from DEAN Swain’s kennel, Runway Bono has won his last three starts and was a terrific 28.58 winner over this distance at Bulli last month.

Classy Tullabung Honey (box four) looks to be returning to top form and can triumph again in race six over the 590m.

The Neil Staines-trained greyhound has scored placings in her last two starts – both over the 600m at Canberra – and has won two of her four previous visits to Bulli.

Impressive newcomer Mako (box four), the latest hot pup for south-west Sydney trainer Chris Nutt, looks the top pick in race seven over the 472m.

He has won three times and placed three times from six starts, with his consistent record including a smart 26.19 victory over this distance at Bulli in April.

The toughest opponent looks like Good Odds Angel (box eight), who has won four of her four previous starts wearing the pink rug and has scored four successive placings.

Promising pair Mornington Star (box four) and Esspee (box one) look the top picks in races two and four respectively.
