Quality Entries For Peter Mosman Heats

By Jess Moran

A stellar collection of up and coming greyhounds has been assembled for the heats of the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park on Saturday.

Ten heats will take place, with one of the main highlights appearing to be Richmond Riches Puppy Classic finalists Ritza Lenny (box one) and Vidi Vici (box eight) reprising their duel in heat four.

Vidi Vici finished third behind Thirty Talks in last Saturday's final, while Ritza Lenny failed to make impact running seventh after a poor start.

Both greyhounds have had valuable experience at Wentworth Park, with each of them recording two wins at the track so far.

Joyanna, who finished second in the Richmond Riches Final, takes on Group 3 Ladies Bracelet winner Zipping Lilly in another entertaining battle in heat five.

The pair, who jump from boxes two and eight respectively, are two of the better local NSW hopes in the series.

Along with Zipping Lilly, trainer Jason Mackay also has fellow kennelmates Zipping Bruiser (heat two, box eight) and Aston Ebert (heat three, box seven) taking part in the series.

Among some of the other local hopefuls is Group 3 Nowra Summer Puppy Classic winner Megsie Marble who jumps from box six in heat six and the in-form Miss Foxy Lee trained by Dean Swain who goes in heat one from box six.

As always, a strong contingent of interstate dogs will make their way north for the series spearheaded by recent Group 1 Harrison-Dawson winner Dundee Osprey.

Also up from Victoria is the usual large troop of runners from the in-form Dailly kennel. Two of their standout runners are Snakebite Bale (heat five, box seven) and Dyna Maddie (heat four, box six).

Fellow Victorian trainer Jason Thompson brings a team of four runners up from his Pearcedale kennels including Invictus Rapid (heat six, box five), Buck Forty (heat seven, box four), Aeroplane Tommy (heat eight, box four) and Aqua Cheetah (heat one, box eight).

The first heat of the night is Race 2 on the card and jumps at 7:50pm AEST on Saturday night.
