Decision - Daniel Flanagan

On 5 April 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Charged trainer Mr Daniel Flanagan under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows: 

(a)    That you, Daniel Flanagan, a public trainer, while in Charge of the greyhound ‘Explosive Madam’ at Wentworth Park on 9 December 2015, presented the Greyhound for the purpose of competing in Race 3 the Ladbrokes.com.au Stakes 5th grade event over 520m in circumstances where the Greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance (Charge 1).

(b)    That you, Daniel Flanagan, a public trainer, while in Charge">Charge of the greyhound ‘Explosive Range’ at Gosford on the 2 February 2016 presented the Greyhound for the purpose of competing in Race 8 the Woy Woy Poultry Supplies Non Graded event over 600m in circumstances where the Greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance (Charge">Charge 2).
The prohibited substance in both instances was antenolol.  


Following Mr Flanagan’s early guilty plea to the Charges, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $750 for each of the Charges. A copy of the decision of GRNSW can be found here.

Mr Flanagan has been notified of his rights of appeal.
