Thirty Talks Takes Out Richmond Riches

Thirty Talks, who caused a sensation when he was purchased at the 2014 Richmond Puppy Auction for $30,000, justified his lofty price tag when he took out the inaugural $100,000 Richmond Riches Puppy Classic on Saturday.

Jumping from box two, the Tony Brett-trained greyhound (pictured) overcame a moderate start to run down early leader Vidi Vici to win the lucrative 535m event in 30.68.

Joyanna made good ground late to finish just under three lengths behind in second while Vidi Vici was a further length away in third.

But all honours were with Thirty Talks who remained unbeaten throughout the Richmond Riches Puppy Classic series, which was restricted to greyhounds sold at the 2014 Richmond Puppy Auction.

Thirty Talks, who is by Where's Pedro and Unfinished now has 11 wins from 14 starts and is living up to his lofty price tag, which retired orthodontist Len Antonio paid to purchase the greyhound.

Thirty Talks will now return to Queensland where it is likely he will be aimed for some of the races being held during that state's winter carnival.
