On 31 March 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Charged trainer Mr Leighton Winter under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Leighton Winter, a Public Trainer, while in Charge">Charge of the greyhound ‘Total Luck’ (Greyhound) at Dubbo on the 1st January 2016 presented the Greyhound for the purpose of competing in race 2, the Blue’s Meat 0-3 Wins Heat, mixed grade event over 318 metres in circumstances where the Greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance (Charge">Charge).
The prohibited substance was meloxicam.
Following Mr Winter’s early guilty plea to the Charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a penalty of 10 weeks disqualification. A copy of the decision of GRNSW can be found here.
Mr Winter has been notified of his rights of appeal.
