Penalties Issued In Relation To Il Bacaro Inquiry

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has issued penalties to five participants relating to an incident which occurred at Wentworth Park on 26 December 2015, where the greyhound Asa Killa Queen was presented in place of Il Bacaro.

The penalties are as follows:

Licensed trainer Anthony Azzopardi was fined $2000 after being found guilty of breaching Rule 86 (o) of the Greyhound Racing Rules for failing to ensure his staff members Robert Stojanov and Norman Sheppard presented the correct greyhound at Wentworth Park on 26 December 2015

Licensed trainer Mr Stojanov was fined $1500 after being found guilty of breaching Rule 86 (o) for failing to ensure the correct greyhound was presented at Wentworth Park on 26 December 2015

Licensed trainer Mr Sheppard was issued with a formal reprimand after being found guilty of Rule 86 (o) for failing to ensure the correct greyhound was presented at Wentworth Park on 26 December 2015

Wentworth Park identification official Andrew Rowe was fined $1500 after being found guilty of Rule 86 (o) for failing to correctly identify the greyhound Asa Killa Queen, which ultimately competed in the place of the greyhound Il Bacaro at Wentworth Park on 26 December 2015

Wentworth Park identification official Steven Athanassas was fined $1000 after being found guilty of Rule 86 (o) for failing to correctly identify the greyhound Asa Killa Queen, which ultimately competed in the place of the greyhound Il Bacaro at Wentworth Park on 26 December 2015.
