Decision - Glenn Summerfield

On 26 April 2016 Greyhound Racing New South Wales (GRNSW) charged Mr Glenn Summerfield under the following rules: 

a. Rule 86 (aj) (whilst present at a race meeting…has in their possession, any device or contrivance, which, in the opinion of the Stewards, is capable of affecting the behaviour or performance of a greyhound in any event);  

b. Rule 86 (o) (has in relation to…greyhound racing, done a thing, or omitted to do a thing, which, in the opinion of the Stewards…is negligent);  and 

c. Rule 86 (p) (disobey or fails to comply with the lawful order of…a person…having official duties in relation to greyhound racing.   

Following Glenn Summerfield’s plea of guilty to the Charges, GRNSW Stewards imposed a penalty of a $600 fine taking into account that Mr Summerfield’s licence had been suspended for 12 weeks prior to the inquiry hearing.
