All A Blaze Sets Ladies Bracelet Alight

All A Blaze continued her terrific run of form after she set the fastest time in the Evans and Son Jewellers Ladies Bracelet heats at Wentworth Park on Saturday.

Six days after claiming the Dubbo Gold Cup, All A Blaze turned in a tenacious performance, running down early leader Good Odds Angel to win in 29.87.

In the run, All A Blaze, trained by Pamela Braddon in Cowra, began moderately but was able to stay with the leading pack down the back straight. She then took advantage of a rails run when a tiring Good Odds Angel took the home turn wide, to win by a comfortable margin of 4 ¼ lengths.

All A Blaze will jump from box six in the Ladies Bracelet final for the first time in her career, as she aims for an eighth win from 15 starts and the biggest win of her short career.

Good Odds Angel finished second and also qualifies for Saturday’s Group 3 Ladies Bracelet.

Second fastest heat time was set by the Jason Fletcher-trained Fantastic Skye, who won in a time of 29.91.

Fantastic Skye began well from box one and managed to hold off a late challenge from Zipping Lilly to get the win and qualify for next weekend’s feature event.

Fletcher was smiling after the box draw for the Ladies Bracelet final, with Fantastic Skye once again drawn the pivotal box one, ensuring she is likely to be one of the early punters’ elects for Saturday’s feature.

The other two heat winners failed to break the 30 second mark, with the Denice Warren-trained Too Many Daddys winning in 30.43, while the Judith Fisher-trained Dokmai clocking 30.81 in a dogged win.

Too Many Daddys crossed beautifully from box eight and was never headed to register her second straight win at Wentworth Park.

Dokmai, meanwhile, will compete in her second group final in the space of a month with the Bogie Leigh Futurity finalist managing to get through traffic at the first turn to run away with her heat.

Early favourites to take out the Ladies Bracelet, Sheza Keen Size (fifth in her heat), Megsie Marble (third) and Mitcharlie Mia (seventh) failed to qualify for the final after disappointing runs.

Box draw for Saturday’s Group 3 Evans and Son Jewellers Ladies Bracelet at Wentworth Park is: 1. Fantastic Skye 2. Too Many Daddys 3. Good Odds Angel 4. Paloma Lago 5. Dokmai 6. All A Blaze 7. Zipping Lilly 8. Tap Out Rose
