Dubliner Primed For Paradise Trophy

By Stuart Turner

Dubliner can continue her impressive form with another victory in the feature race at Cannington on tonight.

The CHRIS Halse-trained greyhound (box three) was the fastest heat qualifier and will aim for a fourth win in five starts in the Greyhounds WA Paradise Street Trophy (600m, race six).

Dubliner scored an impressive 34.81 victory last week, cruising home by six-and-a-half lengths and bettering the qualifying time of Yunderup Dozer (box six) by 0.01.

The daughter of Bekim Bale and Flying Machine has been an impressive performer at the re-opened Cannington track, scoring three wins over the 600m.

She has won once and placed three times in five previous starts wearing the white rug and on current form looks hard to stop.

In other Cannington action tonight, recent Group 1 Perth Cup winner Ima Wagtail (box seven) looks the top pick in race seven over the 520m.

The daughter of Oaks Road and Aella has not raced since producing a quality race to capture the $150,000 top prize at Cannington two weeks ago.

Ima Wagtail has been in tremendous form since transferring to Iwanyk’s kennels earlier this year and has won his last four starts.

He has only placed once in five previous starts from box seven but looks the top pick in this race.

Topology (box four) won last week’s Mandurah Derby in fine style and looks the best bet in race nine over the 520m.

The latest hot newcomer from the gun Paul Stuart kennel, Topology has won five and placed five times on his 10 starts so far.

He has won two of his four starts at the new Cannington track and although much better from an inside draw, he looks the top pick.

Senator Monelli was surprisingly beaten into second place over the 490m at Mandurah last start but can atone with victory in race 10 (520m).

The David Hobby-trained speedster (box five) has the consistent record of eight wins and six minor placings from 15 starts so far.

He failed to place on his only previous start at Cannington and is better drawn on the inside but has a smart turn of pace and can salute in this.

In-form duo Mique (box three) and Karon’s Boy (box seven) have each won their last four starts and look the clear top picks in races 11 and 12 respectively.
