Bloodcell Bindi Looking A Smooth Chance At Bulli

By Stuart Turner

Brian Lord believes Bloodcell Bindi can win the battle of the littermates and score him a welcome return victory at Bulli on Friday night.

Bloodcell Bindi jumps box four while her brother, reserve Black Albert, gets a start from box eight in the Ladbrokes Temora to Bulli Final (400m, race seven).

Bloodcell Bindi finished three lengths behind Dana CHRIS (box five) as a runner-up in last week’s heats but has won five of her nine starts so far.

That was a first run in almost two weeks for the daughter of Lochinvar Marlow and Little Hannah but she has won all three of her previous starts over the 400m and Lord believes she can bounce back in this.

“I think she was a little underdone on her last start but she’s got ability,” Lord said.

“You are always concerned with box four but I think she can handle it as she’s won from the middle boxes at Wagga.

Black Albert has won over the 350m at Shepparton and if he’s close to them on the turn then he’ll be tough to stop. He’s a decent each-way chance, but I think Bloodcell Bindi can win.”

This is a first start at Bulli for Bloodcell Bindi but she has enjoyed smart wins at Wagga, Goulburn and Temora.

Lord believes Cosmic Choir (box two), a winner of three of three of her last four starts for trainer Ken Seckold, as the biggest danger to Bloodcell Bindi.

“She’s very quick out and she’s a mad railer,” he said. “I’ve known Ken for a long time and I know he’ll have her spot on.

Bloodcell Bindi is a good all-round greyhound (though) and I think she’ll eventually run over further.

“I haven’t been to Bulli since about 1991 when the surface was grass. It’ll be a good experience to see the place again.

“At the moment I’m really enjoying training and hopefully we can make it a happy return at Bulli.”

In other Bulli Friday action, Mysterize looks the night’s best bet in race two over the 472m.

The JODIE Lord-trained debutant has had smart performance trials at Canberra and Bulli and looks the likeliest winner.

Eye-catching pup Chaser (box two) can salute in the night’s feature race, the 1300 Ladbrokes Maiden Series Final (race six, 472m).

The latest exciting newcomer from the gun western Sydney kennel of Mark Gatt, Chaser won from the same draw in last week’s heats in a smart 26.22.

The Ron Marsden-trained duo Hardaway Highway and Highway Outlaw have been impressive performers and look capable of saluting in races five and 10 respectively.

Hardaway Highway (box eight) scored successive wins between January and April, including three over the 400m at Bulli.

He has won twice and placed twice in four previous starts from box eight and can defeat a strong field that includes exciting newcomer Benteke (box six).

Hardaway Outlaw (box seven) also faces a decent field over the 400m but placed from the same box two starts back and looks to have the measure of these.
