Glenn Summerfield Pleads Guilty To Charges

By GRNSW

On 4 February 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) announced that it had imposed an interim suspension against public trainer and breeder, Mr Glenn Summerfield pending the outcome of inquiry 15S0101 of 2015 into alleged offences under the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules.

As a result of the inquiries conducted to date, GRNSW determined that Mr Summerfield should answer three charges for breaches of the Rules. The charges allege offences under rules 86 (o), 86 (p) and 86 (aj) following the finding of a small animal fur in the kennels at the Dapto GRC meeting on 19 November 2015.

On 26 April 2016 Mr Summerfield attended a hearing at the offices of GRNSW to answer the charges.

At the hearing of the inquiry, Mr Summerfield entered a plea of guilty to all three charges under the Rules.

GRNSW Stewards have determined that it is appropriate for the interim suspension of Mr Summerfield’s licence to be lifted with immediate effect from 12:00am on 26 April 2016.

A copy of the decision of GRNSW can be found here.

GRNSW Stewards are now taking steps to determine what penalty, or penalties, should be imposed as a result of the offences under the Rules after affording Mr Summerfield an opportunity to make submissions on penalty.

GRNSW will provide further details about the conduct of the inquiry in due course.
