Group 2 Ipswich Auction Series winner Magical Yessam and exciting NSW duo France Soir and Tilly’s Boy are among the contenders for this Thursday’s Group 2 Glen Gallon @ Stud Queensland Derby (520m) heats.
A winner of last December’s Group 2 Dapto Puppy Auction Classic, France Soir jumps from box one in the first of three heats of the $50,000-to-the-winner series at Albion Park.
Formerly in the gun kennels of Anthony Azzopardi but now under the care of Northern NSW mentor Robbie Cooke, France Soir has scored four wins and five minor placings from 12 starts so far.
This is his Albion Park competitive debut but he has scored one win and two placings in three previous starts wearing the red rug and is in good form, running a smart 29.74 over the 515m at Sandown Park last month.
This heat also features Tripum">Tripum (box three, pictured), who won at Albion Park on his last start in a sound 30.28.
A winner of the Pop Northfield Classic at Casino last year, Tripum ran an impressive 29.76 at Albion Park in February and has won four of his six career starts at Albion Park.
Magical Yessam will jump from seven fresh from his terrific win in Saturday night’s Rosewood And Community Bank Ipswich Auction Series.
That made it three consecutive victories and 14 triumphs from 32 starts overall for Don Massey’s greyhound, who has also won once and placed once in four starts wearing the black rug.
The big dangers in this heat look like the Tony Brett-trained Thirty Talks (box one) and recent Group 3 New Sensation winner Tilly’s Boy from box eight.
Thirty Talks looks the latest exciting newcomer from the gun Brett kennel and has won in strong company at Sandown Park.
