Participants are reminded that the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal scheme, which offers a return of $156,000 in additional prize money to winning greyhounds, trainers and owners, is in operation.
Every time a greyhound sporting the red Ladbrokes ‘1’ jacket wins a race at six NSW tracks - Bathurst, Bulli, Gosford, Lismore Ladbrokes Park, Maitland and Wentworth Park through a four-week period, $200 is added to a jackpot pool.
An event at the conclusion of the month at each of the six tracks is selected to gain the jackpot pool accumulated throughout the prior four weeks of competition, with the winner of that designated race earning the standard prize money as well as the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal bonus.
Races vary in distance and grade to ensure as many greyhounds as possible have the opportunity compete for and win the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal.
GBOTA NSW Operations Manager Ellen Harris said she was delighted with the impact of the scheme.
“Initiatives like the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal have been a real stroke of genius,” she said. “It has assisted in nomination recruitment to meetings and really driven attendance to those meetings.”
