A Super Line-Up For New Sensation Heats

By Stuart Turner

The in-form Asa Carrera along with boom siblings Super Senor and El Magnifico headline the Group 3 New Sensation (520m) heats at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night.

Recent Group 2 Richmond Oaks finalist All A Blaze and exciting newcomer Zipping Bruiser are also among the contenders for the four heats of the $25,000-to-the-winner series.

All A Blaze will jump from box two in the first heat fresh from reaching the Richmond Oaks final, where she finished sixth.

This high-quality heat also includes hot pup Tap Out Rooster (box one), who has won three of his last four, and Julie Fletcher’s exciting pup Super Senor (box four).

Super Senor has won five of his eight career starts so far – all at Bulli - with some sizzling times over the 400m and 472m.

The one to beat, however, could be Zipping Bruiser (box eight), who is the latest exciting newcomer from the gun Jason Mackay kennel and has already scored a smart 30.17 win at Wentworth Park.

Super Senor’s classy brother El Magnifico (box eight) looks the standout in heat two after making an impressive start to racing.

He went within 0.01 of the 472m track record at Bulli in January and has won four of his nine starts, including a solid 30.06 on debut at Wentworth Park in December.

The top picks in heat three look like Asa Carrera and DEAN Swain’s Tilly’s Boy (box one), who was runner-up in last year’s Group 3 Dapto Maiden Classic and has three wins at Wentworth Park already to his name.

Asa Carrera (box four) has won her last four starts, including a 30.08 triumph over the 520m at Wentworth Park on February 27.

Megalodon (box five) has won three of her four visits to Wentworth Park so far and looks the top pick in heat four.

Wednesday night at Wentworth Park also includes four semi-finals of the Group 3 Ladbrokes Magic Maiden (520m), where all eyes will be on Benteke.

Benteke will jump from box one in the third Magic Maiden semi final, a week after his dominant debut in which he won his heat by 10 lengths in 29.83.

The Ruth King-trained greyhound was the only Magic Maiden heat runner to break the 30 second mark and looks like he will be very hard to stop once again.
