Dalgetty To Undergo Out Of Competition Testing

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) would like to advise that an out of competition test will be conducted on the greyhound Dalgetty, at the request of trainer Jason Thompson.

Mr Thompson made the request to GRNSW after he became aware that the greyhound Proven Kodiak - trained by licensed participant Mark Azzopardi - had returned a positive swab to the prohibited substance amphetamine following a race at Shepparton.

Dalgetty, who is scheduled to compete in a heat of the Golden Easter Egg on Saturday (12 March 2016), had been based at Mr Azzoaprdi’s Appin kennels prior to the positive swab notification and Mr Thompson has expressed concerns that his greyhound may have been exposed to the prohibited substance while located at the kennels.

The analysis of Dalgetty’s sample will be undertaken by the Australian Racing Forensics Laboratory and will be at Mr Thompson’s expense.

The results of the test will be made available on Friday and a decision on whether Dalgetty will compete in his heat of the Golden Easter Egg will be made by his connections following that.

GRNSW will make a further announcement once the results of the tests are available.

Proven Kodiak who was also entered in a heat of the Golden Easter Egg has been scratched from the series as a result of the positive swab.
