Your Shout Punk Ready For The Victory

By Jeff Collerson

Your Shout Punk, once considered suspect at 520m, is set to lead throughout in Saturday night's opening fifth grade event at Wentworth Park.

The greyhound, trained by his owner-breeder Jimmy Coyle, led when beaten in the closest of photo finishes over 520m at Wenwtworth Park on January 27 and again 72 hours later.

"He is getting stronger all the time and I expect him to run no worse than 30.20 if he shows his usual dash and is able to lead around the first turn," Coyle said.

"He only turned two in October so has plenty of wins ahead of him."

While Your Shout Punk appeals as Saturday night's best value bet, Wentworth Park newcomer Nangar Thunder, chasing his fifth win in as many starts looks the program's star wager.

Nangar Thunder, who has won each of his four races in dashing style over 407m and 480m at Grafton has box five in the 520m fifth grade (race two).

While the New Sensation, programmed for young, lightly-raced greyhounds during next month's Golden Easter Egg carnival, looks a perfect race for Nangar Thunder, trainer Dave Irwin is not looking beyond Saturday night.

"Nangar Thunder is obviously a talented greyhound but he is not really brilliant early," Irwin said.

"Saturday's race does not look overly strong but my bloke has box five so that is always a worry. I'm not aiming at the New Sensation until Nangar Thunder proves himself at Wentworth Park."

Irwin has also drawn box five with his other runner on Saturday night, Fancy Dancer in race 10 - a 520m fifth grade.

"At her last start at Wentworth Park she got hampered at the start, then found a little bit of trouble and never really got going," Irwin said.

"I haven't done anything with her since as Fancy Dancer does not need a lot of trialling. She goes best when kept fresh."

One Mug Left, who won in dazzling fashion from box eight at Dapto">Dapto on February 11, makes his Wentworth Park debut in race three - also a 520m fifth grade.

One Mug Left moves from the extreme outside trap at Dapto to box two on Saturday but trainer Justin King does not believe that will worry his greyhound.

"He has a really good turn of foot so boxes don't worry him too much," King said.

"One Mug Left will probably want to get off the track slightly when he is negotiating the first turn but I'll be surprised if he moves too wide.

"Box two looks okay to me because Watta Barghest, who has box one, is usually a slow beginner."

Good Odds Angel will be on trial for a start in next week's Group 3 Bess Electrical Richmond Oaks heats when she takes on her toughest opposition yet in the wentworthpark.com.au Stakes, a 520m free for all.

Although Good Odds Angel is up against National Derby winner Magic Spring, she has the correct draw to lead throughout.

Good Odds Angel has box eight and while she won from box one at Wentworth Park last Saturday night, trainer Tracey Hurst prefers her drawn out wide.
