GRNSW Announces Myrniong Fancy Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory (ARFL) of the presence of amphetamine and 4hydroxyamphetamine in the sample taken from Myriong Fancy after it won race 4 at the Goulburn meeting on 15 December 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Analytical Services (VIC) and has yet to be confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Myrniong Fancy’s trainer Anthony Lord has been advised of the irregularity.

As the detected prohibited substance is classified as a Permanently Banned Prohibited substance under National Rule 79A, Myrniong Fancy is ineligible to compete in any event until returning a sample not breaching this rule.

Should the findings of the ARFL be confirmed by Racing Analytical Services (VIC), the matter will be dealt with by way of Stewards Inquiry.
