Spratt Appeal

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that the Racing Appeals Tribunal has announced its decision on the appeal by trainer Christopher Spratt against a penalty imposed by GRNSW stewards for a breach of Gar 83 (2) (a).

Mr Spratt appealed against the finding of guilt and the imposition of a $2000 fine after he presented the greyhound Fancy Liza to compete in race 8, the Association Cup Final, at Wentworth Park on 30 March 2013 other than free of any prohibited substance in that the urine sample taken from the greyhound after the race was found on confirmatory analysis to contain 5beta-androstane-3alpha, 17beta-diol at a concentration of greater than 10 nanograms per mil in a female greyhound.

The tribunal dismissed the appeal on the finding of guilt and the penalty imposed.
