Super Senor Aims For Another Win At Bulli

By Stuart Turner

Super Senor’s quick rise up the sprinting ranks continues at Bulli tonight, with the exciting greyhound lining up in a high quality fifth grade event.

The Julie Fletcher-trained greyhound jumps from box six in theLadbrokes.com.au Final (race six, 472m) aiming for a fifth win in six starts.

Super Senor scored a super win in last week’s heats in which he started from the same box and defeated a strong field including Ritza Lenny and track record holder Sandave Prince.

Ritza Lenny moves to box one tonight and with Sandave Prince again in the mix from box four, another super race is in store.

Despite the top field, Julie’s husband Bruce, is confident their greyhound can continue on his winning ways.

“If Super Senor can beat greyhounds like this two weeks in a row, it will be a huge achievement,” Fletcher said.

Ritza Lenny really uses the rail and he will be very hard to beat, I feel. Super Senor is a mad railer but he does have terrific early speed and great determination to get to the lead. He’s also had tough box draws so far and shown he is up to the task.

“It’s a big ask but he can win.”

The Fletchers’ other in-form greyhound, El Magnifico, returns from a two-week break and looks a great chance in a fifth grade Bulli-Wenty heat (race eight,  472m).

He faces the smart Sweetwater Boy (box eight) but with a devastating 25.86 victory at Bulli under his belt, El Magnifico looks the pick.

“He should be helped by the draw and he’s ready to go,” Fletcher said.

“The eight greyhound is a big danger - you can’t see a winner coming from the middle boxes – but I think El Magnifico is a great chance.

“I’ve always thought El Magnifico had the edge over Super Senor but I still have high hopes for Super Senor. With his early pace he can improve his times.

“I’m delighted with both of them (though) – it’s an exciting time for us.”

In other action at Bulli tonight, a potentially big weekend for western Sydney trainer John Little should start with victory for his greyhound Maya Herrera in race three (472m).

Maya Herrera (box four) finished fifth in a quality fifth grade at Dapto last week but prior to that scored an impressive 29.81 victory over the 520m at the Illawarra track.

She can handle the tricky draw and win for Little, who has Pedro Cerrano jumping in Saturday night’s Group 1 National Derby.

Willy Do (box three) can continue his good run with victory in race 10.

The John Callaughan-trained greyhound scored a good win from the same box over the 400m at Gosford last Tuesday night and also won at Bulli over the same distance earlier this month.
