GRNSW Announces Penalty Against Nancy McIntosh

By GRNSW

On 15 September 2015, Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advised that it had received confirmation of the presence of the prohibited substance prednisone, prednisolone and 20beta-dihydroprednisolone in a sample taken from the greyhound My Girl Cass after it won race 1 at Maitland on 4 June 2015.

On 19 January 2016 an inquiry was held in which My Girl Cass's trainer Nancy McIntosh pleaded not guilty of an offence under Rule 83 (2) (a) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules. After deliberation, Ms McIntosh was found guilty of the charge.

After affording Ms McIntosh an opportunity to make submissions on the penalty to be imposed as a result of the offences, GRNSW Stewards have determined that the following penalty be imposed:

• A period of suspension of four months

A copy of the decision of GRNSW about the penalty imposed can be found here.

Ms McIntosh has been notified of her rights of appeal.
