Hotshot Ready To Fire Again

By Stuart Turner

Party Hotshot could be a tempting outside chance for this year’s Golden Easter Egg but first he looks ready to score yet another victory in the NBP Security Summer Chase final (647m) at Mandurah on Saturday night.

The Ben Abercrombie-trained greyhound, who has won his last four starts, jumps from box two and looks the top pick to win the $13,500-to-the-winner decider.

Party Hotshot has been one of Western Australia’s most impressive performers over the last 12 months, extending his record to 14 wins and five minor placings from 25 starts with last week’s victory in the heats.

That win was Party Hotshot’s first crack at the 647m after plenty of sprinting success but he showed he is well up to the task.

Abercrombie has previously targeted a trip east for the Golden Easter Egg for Party Hotshot, who has eight victories over the 530m at Cannington to his name.

In-form Texan Star (box three) is capable of improving further but on current form Party Hotshot looks the one to beat.

In other action at Mandurah, Like A Donkey (race one, 405m) is shaping as the night’s best bet.

The Lexia Isaac-trained greyhound (box six) is a consistent performer, with three victories in his last six starts, and even with the tricky draw looks the hot pick in this race.

Classy contender Tureaud looks ideally drawn to score another victory in race four (490m).

A star of Paul Stuart’s gun kennel, he has won four of his five previous starts with the red rug and with a clean start should have the measure of these.

Both Precious Mion (race ten, 490m) and Super Fun (race 12, 405m) look ideally drawn with the red rug to score victories.

Precious Mion faces a tough-looking field but is proven in this class and has scored some good wins over the 490m in her time, including a 27.96 victory in November.

Another from the gun Isaac kennel, Super Fun returned to top form with victory over the 405m last start.

He can be a little unreliable at the start but has placed on two of his three previous runs from this box and in current form looks the standout.

Lap of Luxury (race 11, 490m) has gone well in tougher company and even with an unfavourable draw in box six should have too much for the rest.
