She's A Looper Looking For Happy Return

By Stuart Turner

She’s A Looper and It’s Classified look the ones to watch for in Thursday’s Bargain Steel South Australia Championship (515m) heats.

Two heats of the listed series take place on Thursday night at Angle Park, with most of South Australia’s leading greyhounds over this distance in action.

She’s A Looper returns to her local track after a brief visit to Victoria, which included an impressive 29.50 win at Sandown Park in early December.

The Cameron Butcher-trained greyhound looks ideally drawn in box two, having won two of her three previous starts from this box.

CASH In Looper (box one) returned to form with a strong win at Gawler last start and poses a threat, but can be slow out of the boxes before running home strong.

A more tempting value chance looks like Crisis Bale (box five), who has won four of his last six.

The second heat features a terrific clash between local stars It’s Classified and Worm Burner, who each enjoyed sparkling latter halves of 2015.

It’s Classified finished fifth at his last start at The Meadows on December 26 but should return to winning ways in this race, in which he will jump from box five.

He ran a devastating 29.51 on his last look at Angle Park and can handle the squeeze box, having won his two starts wearing the yellow rug.

The top four from each heat progress to next Thursday’s $15,000-to-the-winner final.

In other Angle Park Thursday action, Abbie’s Girl  is in a strong position to register an eighth win in 10 starts in race five (600m).

The Angela Modra-trained greyhound has been in hot form over the longer distances, including a 34.96 run over the 600m at her last start and in current form looks the top pick.

Manly Beach faces some tough opposition but can win race 10 over the 515m.

Bozidar Stamenkovic’s greyhound enjoyed the best performance of his young career when he scored a 29.92 victory at Angle Park on his last start and he looks ideally drawn with the red rug.

Former NSW based greyhound Wave To Kirra has been a solid performer since heading interstate late last year and could be a decent value chance in race six.

Wave to Kirra will jump from box seven. This draw should suit as she has a decent record from the wide boxes and ran a strong 29.90 on her last visit to Angle Park on Christmas Eve.
