On 21 July 2015, Greyhound Racing New South Wales (GRNSW) advised that it had received confirmation of the presence of the prohibited substance O-desmethylvenlafaxine in a sample taken from the greyhound Pride Of Egypt after it won race 2 at Richmond on 6 March 2015.
GRNSW also advised that Pride Of Egypt's trainer Dawn Garrett had been given the opportunity to enter a plea of guilty to a charge of presenting a greyhound other than free of a prohibited substance in breach of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules.
Ms Garrett informed GRNSW that she has decided to enter a plea of guilty to the charge.
As a result, GRNSW Stewards have accepted Ms Garrett's guilty plea to a charge of presenting Pride Of Egypt other than free of a prohibited substance. GRNSW Stewards have determined that the following penalty should be imposed:
• Eight week disqualification of Ms Garrett's license
A copy of the decision of GRNSW about the penalty imposed can be found here.
Ms Garrett has been notified of her rights of appeal.
