Charos Tenetti Gunning For Another Win At Mandurah

By Stuart Turner

For John Righetti, the start on Saturday night will be crucial in determining whether his in-form greyhound Charos Tenetti can make it four wins from five starts at Mandurah.

Charos Tenetti will jump from box two in the Community Newspaper Group Stakes (405m, race seven) on Saturday night, a fortnight after scoring an impressive 22.98 victory over the same track/distance.

Owner-trainer Righetti believes Saturday’s race will be decided at the jump, with the dangerous Mazin Flash drawn on Charos Tenetti’s inside in box one.

“I think Mazin Flash is the only one who can beat her in this race. It’s between them,” he said.

“Mazin Flash is a good greyhound, but I’ve noticed he hasn’t been starting as well as he can recently.

“The box draw suits him but I think mine has a chance from the two and can be quicker away from this draw. There’s not much between them, but if mine gets the break on him early I think she can win.”

While Charos Tenetti does not have the best record from inside draws, Righetti believes she is handling being closer to the rail better as she gains more race experience.

“In her early days she wasn’t keen on the inside as she didn’t like having others around her,” he said.

“Now she’s a little older, though, she’s matured and seems to have overcome that. She’s got a great temperament and everything you want in a good greyhound.”

In other action at Mandurah, Party Hotshot and Yunderup Dozer look good bets to score wins in races three and four respectively.

The pair are in excellent form and should each take advantage of drawing box one to take the money in their respective races.

West On Babe is another who looks ideally drawn wearing the red rug in race one.

Party Hotshot’s kennelmate Mejekawi has been out of luck recently but can return to winning ways in race two (490m).

He has been running at 405m recently and should appreciate the step up in distance, as he has previously run well over the 490m.
