All A Blaze Looks A Hot Chance For Goulburn

By Stuart Turner

All A Blaze looks like continuing Paul and Pamela Braddon’s hot run of form with another victory at Goulburn on Tuesday.

The daughter of El Grand Senor and WILLOW Blaze, who was an impressive winner on debut at Goulburn last week, winning by eight-and-three-quarter lengths in 24.85 over the 440m.

All A Blaze will now back up on Tuesday in which she jumps from box two in a 5th grade event over the 440m (race five).

Despite the impressive debut from All A Blaze, Pamela Braddon has sounded a note of caution for her next assignment.

“The big worry is her box manners,” Braddon said.  “The whole litter is very strong but they all seem impatient in the boxes.

“At least she’s drawn well again as she likes the inside. We certainly thought she’d go well last week in her maiden, but a fifth grade is another matter entirely. She’s taking on greyhounds with a lot more experience this week.

“I’m not getting too confident, but if she comes out cleanly she can win again.”

The Braddons, who are based in Cowra, have enjoyed a terrific 2015 with their greyhounds including Milko’s Magic (10 wins from his last 14 starts), Hope’s A Chance (two victories from his first five starts) and Crash Connor’s, who has won nine races since March.

The couple could have a big day at Goulburn with a number of other strong chances, including Layla Swift in race 10.

Layla Swift (box four) has won her two previous starts wearing the blue rug and had won five in a row prior to last week’s runner-up spot behind kennelmate Hurricane Rino.

“I was surprised she came out so poorly last week,” Braddon said.

“She raced at Cowra three days beforehand - maybe that took the edge off her. After  the way she started, it was a good run to finish second.

“If she and All A Blaze come out well and are at their best they are both with a chance.”

The Braddons could score another victory with debutant Marbo’s Magic (box four) in race three (350m).

He trialled well at Goulburn over the 350m last month and should be capable of further improvement.

Meanwhile, the Christine Oldfield-trained Can’t Fool Me can return to winning ways with victory in race four (350m).

A son of Magic Sprite and El Fooling, he disappointed last start at Richmond but won well over this distance at Goulburn last month.
