Fantastic Dotty Makes Bulli Bow

Dapto Maiden winner Fantastic Dotty returns to NSW tonight after an unlucky Melbourne campaign.

The Jason Fletcher-trained greyhound (pictured), who burst onto the scene with consecutive 520m track records during the Dapto Maiden series, makes her Bulli debut in a 5th grade event over the 472m.

Fantastic Dotty comes into the race following two races at The Meadows. She ran an unlucky fifth at her first look at the Melbourne track, before following that up with a third placing.

Fletcher was happy with the performances but is looking forward to returning to NSW tonight with the impressive newcomer.

“She was a victim of a scrimmage in her first race, but I thought her second run at The Meadows last Saturday night was sensational,” Fletcher said.

“This race (at Bulli) should suit her fine. She did all her early education at Bulli and she goes as good there as she does at Dapto.

“I’m certainly not expecting any track records. The aim is just to get her round safely and get the win.”

Fantastic Dotty has had one unsuccessful start from box five but her scorching early pace will no doubt make her a short-priced favourite for tonight’s assignment.

Her biggest threat tonight may come from kennelmate Fantastic Skye (box six), who scored a solid 26.36 win over the 472m at Bulli last week.

Fantastic Skye looks a notch below Fantastic Dotty, but has scored three wins and four minor placings from nine starts so far.

“She’s not quite as fast as Dotty but she’s a fast greyhound in her own right,” Fletcher said.

“If Dotty gets caught up in traffic then I wouldn’t be surprised if Skye was off and gone.”

Sonador Gold (box one) has scored two wins over the 400m at Bulli so far in his young career and looks the next best.

In other races at Bulli tonight, Dark Magnum (box seven) looks capable of saluting in race seven.

Dark Magnum has had two unsuccessful starts at Bulli since returning from a five month injury layoff but has a good record at the Illawarra track having won six times in 14 start.

Meanwhile, unbeaten greyhound Priori (box three) will be looking to register his fourth straight win in race eight – a 5th grade event over 400m.
