GRNSW Announces Penalty Against Stuart Barron

On 18 September 2015, Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) announced that it was conducting an inquiry into alleged offences under the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules (Rules) as part of an inquiry.

On 21 October 2015, trainer Stuart Barron pleaded guilty of an offence under Rule 83 (2) (a) of the Rules.

After affording Mr Barron an opportunity to make submissions on the penalty to be imposed as a result of the offences, GRNSW Stewards have determined that the following penalties should be imposed:

• A period of disqualification of one month commencing 28 October 2015, in addition to a monetary penalty of a $1,000.00 fine

Mr Barron was afforded  the right to lodge an appeal against the decision of the Stewards, however declined this option.
