Top Prosecutor Aiming To Secure Another Win

By thedogs.com.au

Top Prosecutor has had an impressive rise through the ranks in his brief career, but even trainer Neil Catchpole admits his greyhound will have to be at his best if he is to win at Albion Park on Thursday night.

The son of Magic Sprite and See Blue jumps from box six in the second of two Molly Campbell Silver Dollars heats (520m, race six) seeking a third win in four career starts.

Top Prosecutor turned heads with an impressive debut win at Albion Park before overcoming a strong field to register a dominant seven-and-three-quarter length victory in 30.01 last Thursday night.

While Catchpole was delighted with the performance, he is under illusions about the task facing Top Prosecutor this week.

“It’s a bad box and there’s greyhounds on the inside here with a lot more experience than him, so this is a hard race,” he said.

“If he misses the kick he will be in trouble, but if not then he’s certainly got a chance.”

“He looks a good, hard chaser which is what you want.

“Even in his trials he was going around the 30, 30.10 mark so he’s pretty consistent.”

Top Prosecutor’s main rivals on Thursday night appear to be Feisty Fie (box two) and Rhythmic Earner (box three), who are both coming off recent wins.

Alpha Theseus (box eight), meanwhile, ran 29.87 last week and must also be respected.

In other action at Albion Park on Thursday night, Peter Ruetschi looks to continue his kennel’s good form with Over Here who lines up in box five in race seven.

Over Here has scored ten wins and five minor placings so far in her career, including a 29.84 run at Albion Park back in April.

She fell last week in a heat of the Group 2 Lismore Cup but if in full fitness looks the best here.

In other action, Anykey (box three), trained by Tony Brett, looks a strong chance to make it two wins from two starts in the night’s first race.

The son of Spring Gun and Key Exit – mother of two-time Group winner and star kennelmate Keybowwon on debut here earlier this month over the 520m in 30.23.

CASH In Motion (box one) looks a good chance to return to winning ways in the first Molly Campbell Silver Dollars heat (race five).

Robbie Cooke’s greyhound finished third in a heat of the Group 2 Lismore Cup last week but ran a storming 29.79 when triumphing at Albion Park three starts back.

Georgina (box two) can continue her great form with victory in race four.

The well-bred greyhound has won consecutive races at Ipswich before returning to Albion Park last start and scoring a super 30.16 win last week.
